Well, we\'re back from the north woods and a fine weekend. We spent the entire morning on Saturday at Lake Hilbert in the kayaks. Carrie has decided that she truly enjoys the open water as opposed to the river.

It was so peaceful out on the water the first part of our paddle, but once the drunkards...(most likely from Illinois *wink*) hit the water in their speed boats we decided to call it a day and get out of the water with our lives.

We did get to see about five or six loons on the lake, though they weren\'t singing at all. (I didn\'t know those little suckers could swim underwater). We also got up close to a beaver dam, but nobody was apparently home.

My mother-in-law was so excited to watch us shove off and stood on shore for quite some time snapping some pictures. I am sure we\'ll have plenty of pictures for the gallery, (once I get it written that is..)

I do have a picture of Ellie all ready to go on the digital camera upstairs, but can\'t seem to find it in me to get back to technology just yet. This is as close as I\'ll get until Monday or Tuesday. I\'ll be sure to post the picture in the blog when I get it from the camera.

It ended up raining all day today, so we didn\'t get to get out on the water again which was a buzz kill, but maybe if tomorrow is nice, we can get out. Or at the very least, I\'d like to drop a line or two in water and see what bites. I have yet to go fishing this year and its driving me crazy. Gotta feed the need!
